We're bootstrapped and growing. The team is currently one — the founder, who built and runs the platform. We're hiring for the second pair of hands. The work is real infrastructure. If that sounds like the kind of place you want to spend your time, read on.
We're not Google. We can't offer £80k and a free canteen. TrueCore is bootstrapped and growing, which right now means a one-person operation: the founder is unpaid, and any role you take on joins as the second pair of hands — also unpaid until customer revenue covers it. We won't pretend otherwise. If "unpaid" is a dealbreaker, that's fair, and we wish you well.
If it's not, here's what we can offer instead.
You'll touch actual production systems, talk to actual customers, and ship code that runs on actual servers. No fake projects, no busywork, no shadowing. From day one your name is next to commits and ticket replies.
When we incorporate, raise, or hit revenue that lets us hire properly, the people already here get first refusal on the paid roles. We don't ghost contributors when the money arrives.
Linux (Alpine), networking, DNS, customer support, billing, security, monitoring. You'll see how all the pieces of a hosting platform fit together because there's no one to delegate to. That's a tradeoff in your favour if you're early in your career.
Work from wherever, at whatever hours suit you. No standups for the sake of standups. We care that customers are happy and systems are up — when and where you make that happen is yours to decide.
Suggest a feature, write a runbook, redesign a page — if it makes the platform better, it ships. Direct line to the founder means short feedback loops; no committee to lobby to be useful.
Direct work with the founder. LinkedIn recommendation, written reference, technical attestation — whatever helps the next step in your career. We're rooting for you to outgrow us eventually.
All roles are remote, unpaid for now, with the equity-and-priority arrangement above. Email careers@truecorehosting.com with whichever interests you — no formal application, just tell us who you are and why this work appeals to you.

Be the human at the other end of support tickets and pre-sales questions. Help customers when something's broken, explain things clearly, and turn the hard moments into ones people remember well. Empathy and clear writing matter more than deep tech knowledge — we'll teach you the hosting parts.

Work on the platform itself: provisioning, monitoring, automation, performance. We use Go, Rust, and a lot of well-named shell scripts. You should be comfortable on Linux, comfortable reading code you didn't write, and prepared to wear several hats. Two years of admin experience is plenty.

Cover the hours when the rest of us are asleep. Watch alerts, respond to incidents, run maintenance windows, escalate when needed. Self-directed and calm under pressure are the main things — we'll bring you up to speed on the platform itself.

Help us reach the people who'd actually like what we're building. Write blog posts in our voice, run the Discord community, manage acquisition channels, and tell our story honestly to people tired of overselling. The voice matters — if your draft sounds like a press release, this isn't the role.
Send a note to careers@truecorehosting.com telling us who you are, which role interests you, and why you want to work on this. A few paragraphs is fine — we're not scoring you on cover-letter formatting.
We reply to every email within 48 hours. Ghosting candidates is rude and we won't do it.
