ℹ️ Winter flood preparation — grit bins and sandbags
Ahead of winter the Council reviews the parish flood plan and checks the three grit bins. Residents in the low-lying part of the parish can request sandbags through Maidstone Borough Council. Live flood warnings for this area are shown at the top of this page automatically, direct from the Environment Agency.
The village hall on Maidstone Road is available for hire for parties, classes, meetings and regular groups. It has a main hall, a kitchen, accessible toilets and parking for around twenty cars.
The hall is run by an independent committee of trustees, not by the Parish Council, though the Council makes an annual grant towards its running costs. Booking enquiries go to the Village Hall Committee.
